2022

Furhat Robotics acquires Misty Robotics

The two most advanced social robots in the world join forces and Furhat opens its first office in the US.

2018

Launch of the Gen 2 Furhat robot

After a much-anticipated wait, the second generation Furhat was announced to the world, live at Web Summit in Lisbon. We simultaneously launched the FurhatOS and the Furhat SDK, enabling multiparty and multimodal interaction, facial analysis, among many more interactive features.

2017

Furhat Robotics raises $2.5m in a seed round

Two of Europe’s most active early-stage venture capital investors injected funding in a seed round. Balderton Capital and LocalGlobe VC, long-obsessed with the development of Human-Robot Interaction, propel the growth of the company.

2016

The Furhat community grows

The first 20 customers acquire their Generation 1 Furhat robots. Starting out with Disney Research as our very first early adopter, the likes of Honda, KMPG, Merck, Deutsche Bahn and world-renowned Universities & research labs followed suit.

The birth of Furhat Robotics

A mere three years since the first prototype was built, the company was formed. The founders set out with an ambitious vision; Furhat Robotics was going to be the world’s most advanced social robotics & conversational AI platform.

2011

The first Furhat prototype was built

Furhat’s humble beginnings date back to 2011, where the first prototype was built and installed in a live environment. With a clunky case and a rudimentary projection system, restaurant customers could try out an interaction with the early version of Furhat.
